The Charlotte-Metro FOOLS, a local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society, is a combination chapter formed by members of the Charlotte Fire Dept. and includes paid and volunteer firemen from the metro area surrounding Charlotte and Gastonia. Our local mission statement in addition to the FOOLS organization statement is to provide a resource for those looking to preserve the camaraderie, brotherhood and traditions of the fire service. To establish a local avenue of communication that encourages ideas, education and training amongst the FOOLS and to encourage ways to improve the fire service around us. To have a voice in determining the course of actions that affect what so many have fought to preserve. To encourage as well as teach about brotherhood, honor, pride and tradition and to uphold the memory of those who have gone before us and ensure the continued growth of what we hold sacred. |
